Dr. Darryl Brown is a veteran educator with nearly 30 years of experience in K-12 education as a teacher, administrator, and charter school authorizer. He began his career teaching middle school in the Inglewood Unified School District before transitioning into administration. In the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, he served as an assistant principal and principal, earning recognition as Site Administrator of the Year (2013-2014) and ACSA Region 14 Continuation Education Administrator of the Year. Currently, Dr. Brown serves in the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Charter School Office, providing oversight for five of the county’s twenty-three authorized charter schools. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley. In addition, he earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration from National University and a doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California.
